Environment and Climate Change
Environment and Climate Change:
Mitigating the impact of climate change is essential for poverty alleviation. Poor communities are the worst affected by climate change even though they are the least contributors to climate change. Most poor people in rural areas rely on the land for their livelihoods. Subsistence farmers are highly vulnerable to changing weather conditions which impact on agricultural production. Over-reliance on rudimentary farming methods and rain-feed agriculture exacerbates vulnerability to climate change. ASOLI engages with stakeholders to help farmers and farming communities prepare and adapt to climate change through innovative strategies.
