Esther Azasi Fellow
Esther Azasi is a researcher with extensive experience in implementation research and health systems strengthening. She has a Master’s degree in Public Administration degree specializing in International Health Policy and Management from the New York University’s (NYU) Wagner Graduate School of Public Service. She is currently completing her final year of Ph.D studies at the Queen Margaret University (QMU) in Edinburgh, UK on Global Health Research. Her study seeks to understand health systems resilience in the fragile context of Northern region, Ghana.
Esther has in the past worked closely with government and non-governmental organizations including the Ghana Health Service (GHS) and Public Health Institute (PHI) of USA focusing on systems strengthening for improved maternal and child health. Esther was one of the first nominees of the Young Diplomat of Ghana programme, which empowered young people in effective leadership and development. Ms Azasi is a winner of the Joint Japan/World Bank Graduate Scholarship Program (JJ/WBGSP); the Queen Margaret University (QMU) Research Degree Bursary Award; and the Santander Universities Scholarship Award. She is passionate about women empowerment and gender equity, as well as health systems research in Ghana and Africa.
